RED BEAN PIG BUN

Red Bean Bun in the shape of a pig!
  • Cooking Time 30mins

  • Ingredients
500g Plain Flour
5g Dry Yeast
300g Water
A pinch of Red Yeast Powder (If you don't have it, you can use food colouring instead)
Black Sesame (for eyes)
Red Bean stuffing

Method:

(1)
In one bowl mix the dry yeast and water together. Then mix the flour together with it.
Knead the dough. Then leave to ferment until it grows double in size.

(2)
Take off about 30g of the dough and mix with the red yeast powder.

(3)
With the remainder the dough, split evenly into 20 pieces.
Roll each piece out and add the red bean stuffing. Close it shut into a ball.

(4)
Roll out the coloured (pink) dough, cut out 20 pairs of ears, and 20 pairs of noses.
With the noses use a toothpick to make holes.
Dip the ears and noses in water then stick to the white balls.

(5) Put the pigs into a lightly oiled steamer. Steam for about 20 minutes on low fire, then 20 minutes on high fire.

(6) Switch off the fire, and leave for 3 minutes with the lid on.
The pigs can then be taken out.
